Tafsiran 2 Raja-raja 4:7: Tze'enah Ure'enah, Rashi & Metzudat David

Tze'enah Ure'enah

“She came and told the man of God, etc.” [4:7]. The woman came and wanted to ask the advice of Elisha. Should she wait until oil became more expensive? Elisha, the man of God, answered her. Sell the oil. There will be enough to pay your debts and to feed your children with the remaining oil.

Rashi

She came and told, etc. She came for advice, whether to sell [the oil] or to wait until it would become even more expensive. He said to her, “Go sell, for there is enough [to pay] all your debt, and for you and your sons to live with the remainder, until the dead are resurrected.”9He blessed them with eternal life, i.e., life until the Resurrection of the Dead.—Malbim
